Welcome to Year 7 at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. I am so glad that you have joined us!
The information on this transition page is designed to address some of the questions that are most frequently asked by students when they join us; I hope that it will complement the information from primary school visits and transition days in order to provide you with everything you need to help make your start to life at SHFGS as smooth as possible.
Hopefully you will all be excited about making the transition to secondary school, but it is also understandable if you are feeling some degree of apprehension. I hope that after you have read the information here, you will feel you have all the key information about our school, including where to access support for those who have particular needs.
I sincerely hope you will all have a happy and productive time at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School; however, if you still have any questions or anxieties remaining, please do speak to us at school so that we can help. Remember, you can ask anyone you see around the school, but particularly helpful will be me, your tutors, Buddies, or the Raising Achievement Team.

Bucks Schoolwear Plus is the supplier of daywear and PE kit for Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School.
If your child is starting at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School in September, we do recommend booking one of our personal shopping appointments for fitting advice. You will have a knowledgeable member of staff to assist you throughout, and your child can try everything on in our changing rooms. You will also be given a set of free iron-on name labels. For further information and to book an appointment please visit our website and click on the ‘Appointments’ tab.
For existing students, you do not need an appointment to purchase uniform items. We have our ‘Back to School’ stock of daywear and PE kit in store from early June, so if you want to ensure that you have full availability of items and sizes, and to avoid the busy period at the end of August, then it’s best to visit the shop as early as possible. We offer an extended exchange policy from June until September. Our helpful staff will be on hand to assist you. Alternatively, you can order online for delivery* or in-store collection.
