Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School

Student Senior Leadership Team (SSLT)

Developing leadership skills is an important aspect of the sixth form. Each year following a formal application process, students take on a variety of leadership roles.

The SSLT is led by the Head Boy and Head Girl who are elected through a hustings and interview process including an interview with the Headteacher. The Head Boy and Head Girl are supported by a team of Deputies and Senior Prefects. They hold the role for an academic year and throughout the year they are expected to represent the views of the student body to the sixth form team, Senior Leadership Team and Governors.

Students are at the heart of change at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School and the SSLT have significant input into decisions such as student well being, environmental campaigns, charitable events, careers, post 18 opportunities and diversity and inclusion.

Subject Ambassadors

Subject ambassadors gain valuable skills by developing professional relationships with their linked department. They promote their interest within the wider school community by delivering academic enrichment opportunities as well as supporting lessons

House Captains

When joining the school, all students are assigned to one of six houses. House Captains organise regular inter-house competitions which promote a sense of school community. Read more about our Houses here:
