04/01/21 update from Ms Cochrane
Dear Parent or Carer
Happy New Year!
As you are aware we have returned to school today for staff training. Much of the Senior Staff Training has been provided by NHS Test and Trace on the set up and roll out of mass, rapid testing in schools. The final part of the training for set up of testing is tomorrow.
Unfortunately, we have had to amend the consent form which we created before the holiday in anticipation of gaining consent for testing from parents of children under 16 years old. Sincere apologies to those of you who have already completed the form but I would ask that you complete the new version which we will issue tomorrow having completed the training. In order to be ready to give your consent please see the attached Privacy Notice and information leaflet, ‘How to do your Covid-19 Test’. I would also ask that you discuss all of this with your child/children. We will also send a form to students in Years 11 to 13 in order that those who are 16 or older can let us know if they consent to be tested or not. Please draw their attention to the need to check their school emails this week. Should you have questions on our testing process, please wait until after we have issued the new consent form and any other guidance we have available tomorrow and if your question’s answer is not included please email the question to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Online live lessons will continue following normal timetables from tomorrow and we are ready to have keyworker, vulnerable and SEND children in school from the 5th January but would ask for attendance confirmation for the rest of this week from Keyworkers.

Those children who are not already in the groups detailed above but who are struggling to cope at home will be able to attend school. Please contact your child’s Head of Year to discuss this possibility.
Thank you again for your understanding and support.
