D&T club designs to prevent the spread of COVID19
A COVID Detector with an inbuilt temperature measurement tool?
A Smart Cupboard that can sanitise clothes?
A dual purpose Smart Pen that works as a writing tool but also has a space to dispense hand sanitiser?
These are just some of the creative ideas devised by our thriving D&T club who have been busy thinking about products that could prevent the spread of COVID19.
Gabrielle and JieYing, our Design Ambassadors set the task, "Design a product that can help to prevent the spread of COVID-19" and encouraged the Design Club students to think about the ways that COVID-19 has spread by considering the '5w’s' - who, what, when, where, why and how?
Students submitted their ideas and voting was then carried our via their Google Classroom, where other students in the club voted for their favourite designs. The results were:
1st place - Nimesha for her dual Smart Pen idea
2nd place - Claudia for her idea of a 'Bluetooth Mask' that could detect COVID19 on the wearer and alert others in the area
3rd place - Sophie for her idea of repelling magnets to help maintain 2m distancing space
Congratulations to everyone who took the time to think of innovative ideas and to the winners!
Please see below for a selection of posters that were artfully compiled by our Ambassadors.
