After 2 years leading the Parents’ Society committee, Chair Melanie Ames will be stepping down from the role at the end of this school year.  

We're incredibly grateful to Mrs Ames, particularly as her time as Chair spanned the most challenging of circumstances for fundraising activities! Despite lockdowns and COVID restrictions the Parents’ Society continue to raise essential funds for the school, and Mrs Ames leaves the legacy of a fantastic new climbing wall for the benefit of all students.

The committee are currently looking for a new Chair. The Parents’ Society at SHFGS is a very relaxed, friendly group and are always open to new ideas. The Chair gets lots of support from the rest of the members, and the school community as a whole.  

Meetings are held on a Monday evening once a half term (currently via Zoom) and there are usually 3 or 4 events planned per school year. If you can spare a little of your time, and are interested in finding out more, or would like to nominate yourself, please email the Parents’ Society on parentssociety@sirhenryfloyd.co.uk.
